Journal editors should consider retracting publications if:

  1. They have clear evidence that the findings are not reliable, either as as a result of behavioral errors (eg data falsification) or research errors (eg discretion or experimental error).
  2. Previous findings have been published elsewhere without cross references, permits or justifications appropriate (eg cases of excessive publication).
  3. there are indications of plagiarism.
  4. report / publish research results that are not in accordance with scientific ethics
